Area dad Kevin Hughes seems unflappable in the face of another minor parenting disaster at his Eureka, Missouri home.

Like most American families, Hughes, 38, and his wife — Erin, 37 — rely on occasional screen time to entertain the kids and provide Mom and Dad with a much-needed break.

The Hughes family has basic rules in place most parents would recognize: 30 minutes or less on a phone or tablet watching curated videos or playing approved games. Bad behavior means forfeiting device time.

“This went well for a long time,” said Hughes. “Although, at some point, our oldest started participating in a little bit of low-stakes sports betting.”

Hughes says he believes he deleted the BetzBoy app from his phone at the behest of his wife after a heated exchange in 2023, but admits eldest Brent may have found the app in a third-page app folder labeled “SPORTS BETTING.”

“The hell of it is, he’s currently winning,” reflected Hughes. “My wife and I disagree about when to cut him off.”

Thank you Blue. 👍

I bought Tesla when it was around $60. As I learned what a creep Elon is, I decided to sell out somewhere in $300-$400 range, I think.
I detest the man.

I literally cringed and my jaw dropped when I saw Musk's gesture at Trump's celebration on Inauguration Day. My eyes were in shock...but as your message clearly explains, those with the most money are generally the people with the least compassion…
