Music rights enforcement in content creation is impossibly broken

I like to cook. At least, I’m starting to enjoy it as my pitiful skills improve. I was helpless in the kitchen for a long time, but the fantastic modern meal kit services have let me play tee-ball at the stove long enough to believe I can actually feed myself and the people around me. It’s been a pleasant diversion from the screens I’m in front of for nearly the entire day and for big chunks of too many nights. Reconnecting with part of the traditional human experience has been good for me.

But as I told my wife, I’m never truly enjoying something until I’m also suffering over it a little bit, so naturally, I started to incorporate cooking into my content creation. It just seemed too perfect not to try it. Meal prep times are the perfect length for little streams. I can make a schedule when a shipment comes in, attach a webcam or two and a mic to my laptop, and hang out on Twitch while I make a lunch or a dinner. Who doesn’t love to watch cooking? The category is relatively popular on the site, for something that doesn’t involve games. If I have a quiet night on my channel, hey, I had to cook either way.
